    Hardcover. Condition: Good. Quartos. 613 (Vols. 1 & 2); 52 (Vol. 3); 103 (Vol. 4); 103 (Vol. 5); 103 (Vol. 6); 199 (Vol. 7) pages. Complete 7 Volume set. The bindings measure about 12 inches tall by 9 3/8 inches wide. Hardcovers bound in green cloth. The bindings are moderately rubbed and worn. Volumes 1 & 2 are thicker and show greater wear. In Volume 2, the gutter between the front flyleaf and the title page is cracking with the muslin exposed and the board loosening. There is a tear in the cloth at the headcap of Volume 4. A couple other volumes are a bit shaken. Some of the text is bright and some is toned. No copyright date. This was likely published in the first decade or two of the 20th century. Volume 1 has a brief introduction by Dr. Walter Niemann in English, German and French. Dr. Walter Niemann (1876-1953) was German composer and music critic who earned his degree from the University of Leipzig in 1901.
