General wear to the decorated binding: Spine title and an image of Luther pounding the 95 theses gold-stamped on the spine. Also gold-stamped on the front cover is the title and an image of Luther and probably Philip Melanchthon studying heavy tomes. No slope, no twist, no distortion from reading or improper shelving. Pages tight and essentially clean with no marks (page 238 shows 7 lines highlighted in yellow). Both hinges broken but still strong. Name of previous owner in ink on the front flyleaf. No musty odor.
