Joséphine ha fotografiado la trastienda, la ruta, la caravana de hombres que día a día, noche a noche va tejiendo su destino. Sin aspavientos, con naturalidad. Con la naturalidad y el realismo de los grandes. Caras preocupadas, caras serias, caras cansadas. Los rostros de la fiesta. Herramientas artesanas: muletas, esportones, fundas, cajas de montera. Las herramientas de la fiesta. Hoteles, carreteras, coches, restaurantes, patios de cuadrillas. Los lugares de la fiesta. Y muchos de estos rostros, muchas de estas herramientas, muchos de estos lugares, los ha fotografiado Joséphine en blanco y negro. Gran acierto. El blanco y negro es una traducción de la realidad y una huida de la realidad (F. Trueba). Como el toreo. Es muy emocionante viajar con Manzanares y Joséphine por esta colección de estampas sutiles, de imágenes bellísimas que reflejan tan bien la geografía secreta de ese viaje al verano de sangre, sudor, lágrimas y gloria, que año tras año espera a los toreros.
