Englischer Porträt- und Miniaturmaler und Kupferstecher, Schabkünstler und Kunstverleger. 1772-1808 Teilnahme an diversen Ausstellungen in London.Godefridus Schalcken (1643 Made bei Breda - 1706 Den Haag). Auch Godfried Schalcken. Niederländischer Maler. Erste Ausbildung beim Rembrandt-Schüler Samuel van Hoogstraten in Dordrecht. Ab 1662 in der Werkstatt Gerrit Dous in Leiden Spezialisierung auf die Feinmalerei. Um 1665 Rückkehr nach Dordrecht. Schuf im Stil der Leidener Feinmalerei illusionistische Porträts, Genre- und Historiengemälde, vereinzelt auch Stillleben und Landschaften. In den 1680er Jahren Lehrer u.a. von Arnold Boonen, Carel de Moor und seiner Schwester Maria Schalcken. …
