Za dvacet let, ktera jsem studiu magie venoval, jsem se mnohokrat presvedcil o tom, ze by takove dilo mohlo byt velmi potrebne. Snazil jsem se cerpat z materialu, ktere jsou u nas z velke casti nezname, a zpristupnit tak ctenarum informace, k nimz by se jinak dostavali jen s obtizemi. Kdyby u nas existovala (jako kdysi ve Francii) vysoka skola ved hermetickych, predstavoval by obsah teto knihy zhruba objem uciva, ktere by uchazec musel znat, aby uspesne slozil prijimaci zkousku na fakultu magie.".
