First edition, issued as a limited printing of 550 numbered copies, this being 291 of that limitation. Bound in red half morocco over gilt-decorated cloth boards, with gilt titles and a Celtic device to… the front board. The book contains a frontispiece and illustrated title page, followed by preliminary leaves, pages 5-266, and a final leaf. Illustrated with twenty full-page plates by Braby. Top edge gilt, with the remaining edges untrimmed. A binder's stamp (S & S) appears on the front pastedown. Condition is good plus: the corner tips show light rubbing, with minor bumps to the head and tail of the spine, with fading to the front board and lines from sun fading. Some rubbing to boards. Folio format, measuring approximately 210 × 354 mm. The contents comprise the following texts: Pwyll Prince of Dyfed; Branwen Daughter of Llŷr; Manawydan Son of Llŷr; Math Son of Mathonwy; The Dream of Macsen Wledig; Lludd and Llefelys; Culhwch and Olwen; The Dream of Rhonabwy; The Lady of the Fountain; Peredur Son of Efrawg; and Gereint Son of Erbin.
