Design show a monumental figure sitting on his haunches and turning the pages of a book, with the motto "Curioso." The image is signed toward the bottom of the card in pencil, with the following inscription added: Ija was head of the Rare Bks Dept. at Fields. This is a bookplate I designed for him. He passed away last year - 1 yr after he retired. / DBJ / [date not quite legible]. [With] Large oblong information card 7 x 5 inches, for an exhibition: "A series of paintings made at Dixieland, the home of Thomas Wolfe in Asheville, North Carolina, by the Oak Parker Dan Burne Jones will be presented during the month of October at the Acorn Bookstore and Press [etc.]" The card is illustrated with a pull from the original plate of William Saroyan's bookplate, designed by Burne Jones. The exhibit was accompanied by a display of Thomas Wolfe first editions from the collection of his wife, Jacquie Jones.
