This is a book about the history of the Cherokee Indian Tribe in Oklahoma written by one of the eminent writers of the region. The Cherokee influence in Oklahoma began in 1839 when they arrived from The Old South. The Cherokee survived the move to OK, the damages from the Civil War, and arose again with the building and development of Tahlequah as the national capital of The Cherokee Nation. In 1907 with statehood for OK, Tahlequah continued to grow and NSU was a natural development along with farmlands and recreational areas. A very presentable copy in a Brodart mylar jacket.
