Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine/Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. 8vo. 217pp. Sharp First Edition of this tribute to W. Somerset Maugham on the occasion of his 80th birthday. It is part bibliography, part biography, as well as anecdotes from his friends. Contributors include Graham Greene, Evelyn Waugh, Theodore Dreiser and others. Bound in tan cloth with titles in gilt on spine. Frontis portrait of Maugham by Carl Van Vechten Square, tight and clean throughout with little wear. A bit of toning to edges and spine but minor. Attractive unclipped dust-jacket, ($4.00), has some minor wear to edges and tips. Spine mildly toned. Small closed tears to the center of the rear panel. Still fresh and bright with no chipping or creases. A solid collectable copy at a great price.
