Hardcover. Condition: Fair. Starke Gebrauchsspuren. An eye-popping collection of fantastical, imaginative, pop- surrealist, and just plain twisted contemporary figurative art, executed with top- notch technique and mad skills by some of the finest and most influential artists working today. This book presents the work of 50 contemporary artists of the Surreal Art, Fantastic Realism, and Visionary Art traditions. The publishers have endeavored to compile a balanced publication, showing the extremes of both "light" and "dark" themes. The two extremes are usually presented separately, but here they are together under the umbrella of human experience. It features the work of extablished artists such as Ernst Fuchs, Alex Grey, Kris Kuski, Brom, and Robert Venosa, alongside that of relatively unknown, though extraordinary, artists, bringing a host of new artists into the public eye. The Metamorphosis series provides exposure for artists who express themselves imaginatively with exceptional technique and uncompromised individuality. Metamorphosis showcases this ever- expanding international movement of figurative artists who have resisted current trends in the art world and remained true to their artistic vision. Kris Kuksi Divination and Delusion Kris Kuksi Divination and Delusion Divination and Delusion is the debut art book by American artist Kris Kuksi, published in 2010 by BeinART Publishing. The volume documents five years of Kuksi's career, focusing on his intricate, multi-layered mixed-media assemblages that blend classical aesthetics with modern socio-political critiques. Artistic Style and Core Themes; Kuksi's work is widely described as "post-industrial Rococo" or modern Baroque. He obsessively sources and manually pieces together miniature items to construct grand, asymmetrical, and monolithic landscapes. Materials: He utilizes discarded plastic model kits, screaming toy soldiers, model engine blocks, clockworks, and ornate jewelry. The Monochrome Effect: The hundreds of separate, chaotic pieces are sprayed down to achieve a cohesive, single-tone finish (often resembling weathered stone, ivory, or bronze). This mimics the look of a classical master sculpture while masking the plastic origins of the objects. Thematic Conflict: The book explores the tension between human progress and human self-destruction. Kuksi juxtaposes ancient gods, mythological icons, and remote deities with modern industrial items, military weapons, and machinery. Satirical Critique: Pieces like his famous Churchtank series highlight the contradictions within organized religion, corruption, greed, and the fragility of modern society.…

Over 130 pages of full-page colour plates of Kuksi's work. Kris Kuksi's sculptures, rendered in immaculate detail, evoke a grandeur reminiscent of the Baroque era. Kuksi successfully merges this sumptuous echo of the past with a satirical and critical commentary of our modern industrial world. These finely crafted sculptures employ images of Gods and Goddesses from past and present mythologies and examine religious belief and iconography. Despite the frequent portrayal of corruption, violence, chaos and degeneration, the works in this book challenge aspect.…
