Minor wear to extremities and spotting of fore edge; otherwise a very good copy. Gift inscription from one of the authors on first free endpaper. Illustrated by 16 maps, including whole page. A diplomatic and military history, well illustrated by maps, of the Arab-Israeli War of 1948-49, also emphasising the role of Britain. Jon Kimche (1909-94) was a journalist, historian and analyst of Middle Eastern politics. who was joint editor of Tribune, 1946-48. His brother, David (1928-2000) was a journalist and deputy director of the Israeli foreign intelligence service. Reprint in the year of first publication.
