Glimpses of Ancient Leicester by Mrs Fielding Johnson; Second Edition with Supplementary Notes 1906 (the second edition is thought to be the more desired as it contains the supplementary notes, so gives more information); bound in green cloth with some slight water staining on the spine a…nd a few marks on the covers, title and emblem on the spine and front cover are in gilt, as also the top edge; 8vo c456pp plus 3 gate fold maps and numerous b&w illustrations, a very slight split from the binding on the inside front & back covers; there are various pencil notes in the book, and a previous owner has noted his name and address in Leicester in 1933 at the front and back of the book; there is a tear on the map at the back which has been partly held together with some sellotape; book generally is in good condition in a nice tight binding with no lose pages.
