Vintage publicity photograph of Johnny Downs and uncredited actress Alma Ross from the 1939 film. From the archive of noted Hollywood still photographer Ray Jones. Born in Wisconsin on January 1, 1901, Jones worked for Paramount Pictures in the early 1930s, and went on to be the head of the still photography department at Universal Pictures in 1935, where he worked well into the 1950s. Johnny Downs stars as a bandleader whose father, objecting to his son's occupation, ships him off to Hawaii to manage the family hotel holdings, unaware of Hawaii's bustling music scene. 8 x 10.25 inches. Very Good, with light edgewear, several small closed tears to the extremities, and faint overall creasing.

Draft script for the 1965 film. Copy belonging to actor Johnny Crawford, with his name in manuscript ink on the front wrapper and his manuscript annotations in ink and pencil throughout. With an eight-page shooting schedule bound in before the script. The rebellious son of two television reporters forces his parents to examine their own lives, leading to their conversion to born-again Christianity. Green titled wrappers, noted as production No. 197. Title page present, with credit for screenwriter James Collier. 124 leaves, with last page of text numbered 122. Mimeograph duplication, rectos only, with blue and tan revision pages throughout, dated Nov. 19, 1964. Pages Very Good plus, wrapper Very Good plus, bound with a silver prong. Housed in blue wrappers with a typed title label affixed on the front wrapper, dated 1964.

Vintage portrait photograph of Sally O'Neil from the 1936 film, with two stamps on the verso, including a stamp crediting photographer Ray Jones, and a mimeo snipe on the verso. From the archive of noted Hollywood still photographer Ray Jones. Born in Wisconsin on January 1, 1901, Jones worked for Paramount Pictures in the early 1930s, and went on to be the head of the still photography department at Universal Pictures in 1935, where he worked well into the 1950s. Sally O'Neil was a stage and silent and early sound film star who starred in over 40 films between 1925 and 1937, usually in leading roles. O'Neil retired from film in 1937 but continued to perform on Broadway and toured with the USO in the 1940s. Victor Jory stars a hard-nosed mining engineer brought to an accident plagued mountain tunnel project, behind time and close to being shut down, and with the help of a spunky reporter, played by Sally O'Neil, discovers workers being paid by a rival to sabotage the project. 8 x 10 inches. Very Good plus, with a small closed tear to the bottom margin.
