Eighteen artists each have one piece reproduced; the publication is prefaced with a manifesto by the editor and Dan Melchior ("Raise high the scissors of liberation… brothers and sisters, now is the time to edit bland reality.") The covers are printed letterpress; the first and last leaves appear to be repurposed from a 19th century atlas. 8-1/2 by 5-1/2 inches. [24] pages. First edition (first printing). Fine in stapled wrappers, as issued. With a copy of the small letterpress broadside announcement of the art show opening. This copy is not numbered; instead, the original recipient's name is written in pencil on the colophon.

The contents were velobound with aceta…te wrappers. The covers are three-piece assemblies, each featuring a letter. The contributors to this issue include Charles Bukowski, Billy Childish, Hubert Selby Jr., Bern Porter, and many others. The Bukowski contribution is a printed broadside poem titled "The Word." There is also a laid in original color photograph by Michael Montfort (4-7/8 by 3-1/2 inches) of Bukowski standing in his doorway. This issue includes two loose pieces, a photocopied "thanks for parking so close" flier and a sheet with instructions beginning, "Remove shape card." The final bound leaf is printed in Braille. 7 by 8-1/2 inches. A fine example, with a letter E on the cover. This is copy 190 of 200. With the original plastic bag (rather wrinkled).

Brewton is the publisher and designer of the highly regarded X-Ray magazine as well as other publications, and his work as a graphic designer includes art direction and design of Tom Waits' release Orphans (Brawlers, Bawlers, & Bastards). As new (ca. 11" x 9" overall).

The two inside pages have translucent rice paper flyleaves and the obituary for Timothy Leary, w…ritten by Hunter Thompson and originally printed in Rolling Stone Magazine. Both front and rear grey paper wraps fold out. "Timothy Leary 1920-1996" and "Woody Creek, Colorado June 9, 1996" printed on the front. Gonzo emblem embossed on rear inside flap. Attached to the rear fold out is a scored, simulated sheet of blotter acid with a likeness of Leary on each square. The sheet is printed in magenta ink with *Caution: Do Not Drop at the bottom. Outside wraps have light fading to edges with fine interior and solid string binding. A very nice copy of this Rare publication. ; 16mo 6" - 7" tall; Glass case counter.
