Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. Ernest Shepard (illustrator). 1st Edition. If you like cheese, like I do, you'll love this book! Fabulous illustrations by E.H. Shepard of Winnie the Pooh fame. This is a truly lovely copy bound in fresh looking cheese-coloured cloth boards (although not of the blue variety) with crisp title lettering in gilt on the spine. The bottom fore edge corners are lightly knocked but hardly noticeable really. Internally there are no inscriptions and the pages are nice and clean throughout, with a little light toning to the end papers and page block edge. The dust jacket is scarce in ant condition and this one is in lovely clean and still bright condition. Not price clipped, showing the original price of 10s 6d Net; minimal edge wear, albeit somewhat toned on the white areas and some mild, but fairly noticeable, foxing here and there. In all a super copy of a scarce and rather charming first edition, crucially with the illusive dust jacket. This one is in my private collection so will need to be prised away from me!
