Add to basketHardcover. Condition: Very Good+. First edition. 106pp. Contents very clean and unmarked. Verso of half-title inscribed by author to J.F. Platts-Mills, later a QC and one of Britain's leading barristers, who volunteered to work in the mines in the latter part of WWII [Wikipedia]: with the message 'in recollection of a fine exper…ience among the miners of Yorkshire, and with best wishes.'. Minor tanning to endpapers. Slim volume, 18.5x12.8cms, in the original binding of red cloth, titled to the front in black: clean and bright, spine ends puckered, and with a small knock to one corner. In the protected unclipped white illustrated dust jacket with a plain spine, front titled in black and red: rather soiled, with small chips along the joints and some fraying to the top edge. Very uncommon title in any condition.
