Photographs have been hand-retouched, affixed to a backing board, and prepared for use in advertising. A stark portrait depicting the difficulty of life in the aftermath of the turbulent 1960s. The protagonist Charlie (played by John Heard) falls in love with the newly-separated Laura (played by Mary Beth Hurt) who then returns to her husband, while Charlie simultaneously attempts to deal with the various members of his family. Charlie cannot seem to let go of his obsession, and begins to stalk Laura in an attempt to win her back. Shot on location in Salt Lake City, Utah.
