Hardcover. Condition: Fair. Two volume set. 16 x 9.5 cm. 16mo. 386pp, 436p. Fold-out frontispiece in volume 1. Figures. Bound in tan boards. Inscription: "Presented by the publisher to the Naval Lyceum Jany 1 1834" inside front cover of both volumes and a Naval Lyceum stamp on the second end paper and title page, effects the frontispiece in volume 1. . The spine backstrips are heavily chipped and nearly completely gone. Front cover of volume 2 is weak and nearly detached. Despite the rough bindings, the interiors are quite nice. Harper's Family Library No. LV and LVI. A series of letters sent by Euler to the Princess of Anhalt-Dessau who Euler had tutored in physics. Philosophy, astronomy, optics, magnetics, longitude, electricity, weather are all.
