Signed
Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. Third Printing. Signed and inscribed by the co-author, John Aristotle Phillips, on the title page. The inscription reads: 'September 4th 1982, To Shep + Carol Ruth-- Thank you so very much for all that you have done and continue to do. We're going all the way! John'. That would be Herman (Shep) and Carol Ruth Shepherd. As you can see from the photos, the red and black covers are very clean (one small spot off the rear top edge) and in excellent condition. The gilt lettering on the spine is very bright. The spine ends have only a tiny bit of crinkling. The cover edges are in terrific shape, no rubbing. That's the case with the cover corners as well. The page edges look very good, two small light spots on the middle one and one small light spot on the bottom one. The book is square and the spine is straight. The binding is very solid from cover to cover with nicely tight pages throughout and nicely tight covers as well. The red inside covers and end papers are perfectly clean and free of wear. The pages are exceptionally clean. Scrolling through, I haven't found any instances of soiling. I'm not finding any creasing. There are no markings. No attachments of any kind. And the author's signed inscription represents the only writing to be found anywhere in the book. The dust jacket is in very solid shape. There are no tears. You can see the black lines just off the top and bottom edge of the front cover. Sort of looks like print overrun. There is also a light crease coming up off the bottom edge of the front. The flaps are in solid shape. There is a small, thin crease just off the top edge of the front flap. The flaps are very clean. The jacket is NOT price-clipped, not clipped at all. It is fitted with a protective cover. From the rear inside flap: 'This book is so entertaining that you might easily overlook it serious message--- the threat of nuclear proliferation. That aside, it is an entirely human and refreshingly candid story about a remarkable young man.' --Senator William Proxmire. Signed by Author(s).
