    Hardcover. First edition, first printing (1) . Original green cloth with color paste-down of boys playing football, gold lettering, 334 pp, illustrated with four color plates (all present) . Hardcover, very good, no dustjacket. Corners bumped with a bit of cardboard exposed there, some soil on cloth, slight scuffing on paste-down, spine faded with approximately 1/8 inch fraying at foot. Internally, a bit shaken, with front hinge starting to crack, previous owner's name and address rubber stamped on endpapers, paper lightly age yellowed, 1/4 inch hole on lower margin of one leaf (text unaffected) , otherwise tight, clean, relatively crisp and unmarked. Sports stories about upper middle class school boys playing football, baseball, and gambling on the outcome of a fight between a terrier dog and rats. Children's; modern first; dog fighting.
