Vintage photograph of actors Alec Baldwin, Joseph Maher, and eljko Ivanek from the 1965 Broadway play. Mimeo snipe on the verso crediting photographer Gerry Goodstein. The play opened on February 18, 1986, at the Manhattan Theatre Club with Kevin Bacon in the role of Dennis, later transferring to the Music Box Theatre on Broadway, where Bacon would be replaced by Baldwin in the latter's Broadway debut. A black comedy satirizing the Roman Catholic Church and the police force, about two young thieves who attempt to keep a police inspector off their trail in the wake of a funeral parlor heist. 10 x 8 inches. Vintage script for the 1968 American debut of the 1965 British play. Two gay lovers successfully rob a bank and stash the loot in a coffin in the funeral parlor next door. A decidedly queer spin on popular 1960s British satires such as "Beyond the Fringe" and "Private Eye." The play made its Broadway debut at the Biltmore Theatre on March 18, 1968.
