In 1908 Nora married the London-based Canadian architect Percy Leslie Waterhouse. *** Duncan 1861-1922 was a Canadian journalist and author. In 1890 she married Everard Cotes, an entomologist who lived and worked in India where he became an important figure in Indian journalism. In Simla in 1912 the couple hosted E. M. Forster, who noted Duncan as being 'clever and odd'. In 1890 Duncan published her first book, a fictionalised version of her youthful round-the-world trip. Some 21 novels followed, with The Simple Adventures of a Memsahib 1893, and Vernon's Aunt 1894, the first of a number set in the Anglo-Indian society of the Raj.
