Contains thirteen stories, translated from the Russian by various hands, including Constance Garnett, by standard nineteenth century Russian writers. Lavrin was a prolific scholar and editor of Russian literature during the mid-twentieth century. Bookplate on front pastedown. A very good copy in very good dust jacket with light wear at edges. No Jacket. hb no d/w, black cloth boards with gilt titles to spine, light bumping and rubbing to corners and to spine, otherwise a nice tight sound copy, slight yellowing to pages due to age and light spotting to page edges.
