Photographed in the Princedale Road and Upper Mall studios, Hammersmith, London in 1963-1967. The photograph has been reproduced in the 2021 exhibition of Hans Coper s work at the Ashmolean Museum titled Hans Coper 100 see page 23, but does not appear in the book by Tony Birks on Hans Coper which was published in 1983. The photograph is from the collection of David Coachworth given to him by Lucie Rie circa 1981. The photograph is in good condition with just some light handling. Size. 25 x 20cm (10 x 8 inches) To include Hans Coper 100 published by Ashmolean museum 2020. Provenance. David Coachworth : David Coachworth joined the Victoria and Albert Department of Circulation in the late 1950 s as a museum assistant. In the early 1970 s he was involved in numerous exhibitions including International Ceramics which was exhibited in 1972. It seems likely that his friendship with Lucie Rie developed during their collaboration with the exhibition.
