[i], 231pp. including 7 pages of reviews of other works by the authors. 2 b&w portraits of the authors. We have little information about the authors of the poems contained within this book, but William Cryer ((1845-1917) was born in Lancashire. He moved to London where he became a gardener, and later returned to Bolton. James Wilfred Cryer (born 1881) was his third son and an engineer as well as a poet, and eventually was appointed managing director of William Wadsworth and Son Ltd. The book is bound in the original grey cloth covered boards with black titling on the spine and front board. The case of the book is in very good condition with some shelf wear and light soiling on the boards and the spine ends are bumped. The contents are tight and clean with foxing to the free endpapers and a little scattered light foxing elsewhere within the book. A very brief note has been written on the top edge of page 99 and three verses from the poem 'Little Things' on pages 99 and 100 have blue brackets drawn beside them. There is an inscription on the top edge of the title page by James Wilfred Cryer that reads: "Mr Barron[?] with every good wish J.W.C. 20/6/24[?]". INSCRIBED and initialled by th.
