Describes cancer as "the greatest of all the natural hazards in the adventure of living", and outlines the current theories about causes of cancer investigated by the medi…cal community in 1927: "Parasitic Theory" and "Heredity". Lists lung/mouth cancers as "preventable" and correctly identifies tobacco as the cause. Provides brief descriptions of the following kinds of cancer: skin, esophageal, stomach, rectal, breast, and uterus. Ends by stating that "The most effective plan of avoiding cancer is to practice moderation in all things, to live as simple a life as possible, to attend to any minor persistent disturbances . and to consult a physician at least once a year". First published in 1927. Single vol. (6" by 3.5"), pp. 24, stapled in original illus. self wrps, printed on blue-tinted paper. "Fight Cancer with Knowledge" printed under an image of a medieval sword on the cover. Very good. Minor browning, a couple minor short tears including one on lower wrapper.
