Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. Simon & Schuster, New York. 1962. 160 pages. First edition, first printing stated. Book is tight. Binding and hinges are sound. Minor light soiling to orange cloth; minor sunning along edge. Endpapers show light soiling. Previous owner's name and date stamped to front endpaper. Original DJ with $3.50 price intact on flap. DJ shows light soiling. DJ shows a couple of open chips along top edge. Tiny chipping at heel. Peck, an American activist in the Civil Rights Movement, is the only person who participated in both the Journey of Reconciliation in 1947 and the first Freedom Ride of 1961; which earned him fifty three stitches in the head. He was arrested more than sixty times as an activist. This is Peck's fifteen year account as a Freedom Rider. VG/VG-.
