Once listed, this will be the Only signed copy for sale anywhere on the Internet. The book came from the library of the former Assistant Secretary Of War and High Commissioner of Postwar Germany, John J. McCloy…. It was inscribed in the year of McCloy's death, 1989. I don't read German so I'm providing a close-up photograph of the inscription. I must have done a Google translate some years ago, not sure how accurate it is, but I wrote down 'as a reminder of your ??, ? carl.' You can see the covers in the photos. They are quite clean and in very nice shape. The gilt lettering on the front and spine is bright. The edges and corners look very good. So do the spine ends. The bottom one has a wee bit of toning. There is a tiny crease just below the front top corner and rear bottom corner. There are few light marks/scratches on the rear cover, not much of anything. The top page edge has some dust staining and a little bit of it can be seen on the top edges and just a bit over the edges, very inconspicuous. The book is very solidly bound from cover to cover with nicely tight pages throughout and nicely tight covers as well. The inside covers and end papers are a light blue. They are very clean and free of wear. The interior of the book is in excellent shape. I scrolled through the pages several times without finding any instances of soiling. There is the amber toning that you often see at the margins of glossy or semi-glossy paper. There aren't any turned-down corners or placeholder creases. There is a vague semi-crease at a good number of the bottom corners of pages at the middle to latter part of the book. There are no markings in the book. There are no attachments of any kind. And with the exception of the author's signed inscription, no one has written their name or anything else anywhere. You can see the dust jacket in the first few photos. It is quite clean. There are no tears. There isn't any wear that jumps out at you. The flaps are in solid shape, also very clean. The jacket is not priced or clipped. It will be fitted with a protective cover after the photos are scanned. Ich habe Google unten übersetzt. Ich habe jedoch das Buchstabenlimit erreicht, sodass Sie den Rest selbst erledigen müssen. Das Buch stammt aus der Bibliothek des ehemaligen stellvertretenden Kriegsministers und Hochkommissars des Nachkriegsdeutschlands, John J. McCloy. Es wurde im Jahr von McCloys Tod 1989 eingeschrieben. Ich lese kein Deutsch und stelle daher ein Nahaufnahmefoto der Inschrift zur Verfügung. Ich muss eine Google-Übersetzung gemacht haben, als ich das Buch vor einigen Jahren zum ersten Mal gekauft habe. Nicht sicher, wie genau es ist, aber ich schrieb 'als Erinnerung an Ihre ??,? Carl. ' Sie können die Cover auf den Fotos sehen. Sie sind sehr sauber und in sehr gutem Zustand. Der vergoldete Schriftzug auf der Vorderseite und dem Rücken ist hell. Die Kanten und Ecken sehen sehr gut aus. So endet die Wirbelsäule. Der untere hat ein bisschen Toning. Es gibt eine winzige Falte direkt unter der vorderen oberen Ecke und der hinteren unteren Ecke. Es gibt wenige leichte Flecken / Kratzer auf der hinteren Abdeckung, nicht viel von irgendetwas. Der obere Seitenrand weist einige Staubflecken auf und ein wenig davon ist an den oberen Rändern und nur ein wenig über den Rändern zu sehen, sehr unauffällig. Das Buch ist von Cover zu Cover sehr fest gebunden, mit durchgehend schön engen Seiten und auch schön engen Covers. Die Innendeckel und Abschlusspapiere sind hellblau. Sie sind sehr sauber und verschleißfrei. Das Innere des Buches ist in ausgezeichnetem Zustand. Ich habe mehrmals durch die Seiten gescrollt, ohne Verschmutzungen zu finden.
