Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. Original publisher's multicolored pictorial paper wrappers with staple binding. Front cover shows a color illustration (by Frank E. Brown) of two women and two men in Renaissance costumes with one of the Parade's botanical floats in the background. The men lead the way playing horns and the women ride on horseback carrying flags. 9" x 11 3/4." Thirty-eight pages, complete. Many illustrations, most in black-and-white, four in color, complete. The four color illustrations are on two pages. Former owner's blue ink inscription on front cover: "Here--Cora and Hans L. Hansen, Jan 1st, 1935." Pages are virtually pristine and intact except for slight wrinkling and small occasional marks or stains. Covers are very clean and intact except for a few small stains on front and back, some splitting along spine, slight wrinkling, slight wear to extremities, and the former owner's inscription on front. A Very Good copy. A charming commemorative booklet that celebrates the 1935 Tournament of Roses Parade (also known simply as the Rose Parade) held every New Year's Day in Pasadena, California (or on January 2 if New Year's falls on a Sunday). Most of the booklet comprises printed photographic illustrations of scenes from the 1935 Rose Parade and portrait illustrations of people associated with the event. Many of the illustrations show the botanical floats that features in the Parade. Most, if not all, of these illustrations have captions. Two brief articles recount the outcome of the 1935 Rose Bowl where the football teams of Alabama University and Stanford University played against each other (Alabama won). Other features in the booklet honor Pasadena's Municipal Administration and the Pasadena Police. Inside of front cover advertises Pasadena's Maryland Hotel. Inside of back cover promotes The Town House, a multilevel property containing residential units and hotel rooms. A few other advertisements are included. Back cover promotes Grace Line cruises.
