This is the the biography of the Earl of Dundonald, Thomas Cochrane, who was, in the words of his 20th century biographer Donald Thomas, inarguably the finest single-ship captain since Elizabethan times. Cochrane led a life that reads like an improbable and picaresque historical novel. One of the "English Men of Action" series. Very good condition with pages mostly unopened, in original red cloth binding.
