Not much info about publisher or location in the book. Red fold out illustration to the front is present. Muddock also known as "Joyce Emmerson Preston Muddock" and "Dick Donovan" was a prolific British journalist and author of mystery, horror and science fiction. The Sunless City is rumoured to be the inspiration for the naming of Flin Flon, Manitoba. Published in 1997 ?.

Two Christmas stories, the first of a curmudgeonly Scrooge-like old man and his step-daughter; the second a tale of a man's star-crossed love for his young ward. Neither are supernatural or particularly mysterious. A very scarce book indeed. The inner front cover bears an ad for the 1887 Unwin book by Muddock, The Shadow Hunter, with some bloodcurdling testimonials; ads at the rear are for Muddock's fiction and his guides to Switzerland.
