    Hardcover. Condition: Good. First Edition. Three volumes. 4to. 416, 432, 388 pp. Good. Wear and rubbing to boards. Ex-library copy with blindstamps to title pages, call numbers on spine, bookplate residue to front paste down endpapers. A few equations inked to margins of pages 23 and 24, some pencil ownership signatures to top corner of individual title pages throughout first volume. First volume publication date on title states 1859 although contains the first three issues from October, November and December of 1858. Second volume published by Ivison, Phinney & Co/Trubner, 1860, third volume published by Server & Francis/Barnes & Burr, 1861. From the library of Bruce Chandler, historian of math and science.
