Cornelius Mortier s…i associÚ a Johannes Covens nel 1721, dopo che il padre Pierre era morto nel 1711. La loro fu una delle pi? importanti aziende editoriali olandesi del Settecento. Mit Meilenzeiger und Windrose. Im unteren Drittel des Blattes eine Schmuckkartusche mit einer Gesamtansicht der Stadt mit ihren Kirchtürmen von der Elbe…aus, rechts und links davon allegorisch-figürliches Beiwerk, links mittig eine umfangreiche Bildlegende mit 53 Positionen sowie Angabe der Einteilung der Stadt in Alt- und Neustadt und nach den Kirchspielen. Das detailreiche Blatt zeigt in etwa die Gegend von der Mitte der Außenalster über die Binnenalster und das befestigte Stadtgebiet bis hinunter zum Hafen, der Elbe und bis zum Grasbrook, linkerhand außen die *Rehper-Bahn* ( Reeperbahn ), rechterhand außen die Vogelstange und das Lübsche Thor. Das Blatt mit Mittelfalz, 2 Querfalzen und 2 Falzen zu den Außenrändern hin. Der Offsetdruck an den Falzrändern gering berieben, das Blatt ist mehrfach gefaltet, ansonsten von recht guter Erhaltung. Includes a scale of miles and a compass rose. In the lower third of the sheet is a decorative cartouche depicting a panoramic view of the city and its church towers as seen from the Elbe River. To the right and left are allegorical figures. A comprehensive caption with 53 locations, indicating the city's division into Old Town and New Town, and by parish, is located in the center left. This detailed sheet roughly depicts the area from the middle of the Outer Alster Lake, across the Inner Alster Lake and through the fortified city area, down to the harbor, the Elbe River, and as far as Grasbrook. On the far left is the Reeperbahn (Reeperbahn), and on the far right are the Vogelstange (bird pole) and the Lübeck Gate. The sheet has a center fold, two cross folds, and two folds towards the outer edges.
