Add to basketCrown 8vo; original blue cloth, lettered in gilt on upper cover; marbled endpapers; pp. 135. Cloth somewhat discoloured; earlier owner's name signed on front free endpaper; moderate foxing throughout. Good condition. Account of Salvation Army missionary activity in the late 1800s and early 1900s. The author's mission station was… situated on the bank of the Amatikulu River in southern Zululand, and there is much about work among the Zulus, including during the period of the Natal Rebellion in 1906. The account is, however, not entirely devoted to Zululand, and includes information on Salvation Army missionary enterprise elsewhere in the Union of South Africa and Rhodesia, and has much on William Booth's visits to Africa.
