The dust jacket has light wear to the top edge and a one-eighth inch tear at top of spine that's been tape repaired. This is the most informative book I've seen about Korean ceramics.…Essays at the beginning of the book outline the historical context of their manufacture and their particular artistic development. Each piece is photographed in color and includes one or two additional photos that show the piece from different angles. The description of each piece is lengthy and packed with information. For a potter like me, I found the most helpful chapter, and something unique, was the last chapter in the book: The technology of Korean celadons. This chapter is packed with scientific information about the composition of clay bodies and glazes, unraveling some of the mysteries of how these potters achieved their effects.
