Previous owner's name inside. Pollution of the environment is a topical and emotive subject, and the possible side effects of chemicals in agriculture is causing widespread concern. However, the increasing world population necessitates the use of agrochemicals to produce more food from the available land. This book avoids the emotional overtones that so often cloud discussion of this subject. It is an incisive and balanced appraisal, based on the most recent research findings, of the need for agrochemicals, their control and their effects.
