Presumed first edition (no direct statement provided) INSCRIBED, DATED, AND SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR WITH ADDITIONAL SIGNATURES OF DAUGHTER AND HUSBAND - ARCHITECT HARRY WEESE. 160 pages. Hardcover: H 27.25cm x L 27.25cm. Dust jacket rubbed and soiled; bumping and nicks at edges; front flap is not price-clipped; dj now presented in a mylar Brodart protector. Dark green cloth rubbed; slender fading at boards' bottom margins. Some soiling to front free endpaper with author's four-line ink inscription signed "Kitty Baldwin Weese 7-97" followed by lines "with lots of love, Kate Weese" + "and Harry" all by three different hands (daughter Kate Weese Rogers is the book's designer). Interior leaves are otherwise clean. Binding is firm. With b/w and color illustrations (including plans and photographs). Laid-in at front endpapers is staple-bound booklet "A Tribute to Harry Weese" by [Chicago] Metropolitan Planning Council (16 pages plus covers; some soiling/staining). Uncommon monograph regarding the renowned Chicago modernist architect Harry Weese whose is best known as the designer of the iconic stations comprising the Washington, DC subway system.
