Recto has an uncolored view of the Exposition building engraved by Chicago Engraving Company. The verso, printed in red, is advertising for Porter Bros., Wholesale Dealers in green & Dried California Fruit, located at 171 South Water St. in Chicago. The Exposition was held to demonstrate Chicago's revival following the Great Fire of 1871.
