For voice and piano, with chord symbols and symbols for guitar. Illustrated paper covers with modernist design by Im-Ho, featuring the title on a banner encircling a vertical arrangement of stylized musical pipes, each topped with a musical note, printed in turquoise. Popular American song published during the early swing era. The song became a widely recorded standard and is closely associated with big band and popular vocal repertoire of the early 1940s. Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI), founded in 1939 as a performing rights organization, is listed as publisher for this edition, reflecting its early practice of issuing sheet music under its own imprint to promote works by its affiliated composers and to distinguish its catalog from ASCAP controlled publications. The back cover includes a promotional essay outlining BMI's mission to support new American composers through radio broadcast and public performance licensing. Cover design by Im-Ho, a commercial illustrator active in the United States during the late 1930s and early 1940s, best known for streamlined, modernist sheet music covers influenced by Art Deco and early mid-century graphic design. Advertisement on page [2] includes musical incipits for: There I go (lyric by Hy Zaret, music by Irving Weiser); We could make such beautiful music (lyric by Robert Sour, music by Henry Manners).
