Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. No Jacket. Beautiful gift inscription to Rosemary, Virginia and Christine from Nanny and Poppy. Introduction by A.A. Milne. "The Wind in the Willows" by Kenneth Grahame is a beloved children's classic that follows the adventures of a group of anthropomorphized animal characters along the Riverbank. The story primarily focuses on Mole, Ratty (the water vole), Badger, and the reckless and wealthy Toad. As they navigate their lives in the English countryside, they encounter a series of adventures, from Toad's wild antics and brushes with the law to the peaceful, reflective moments along the river. Through its whimsical tone and charming storytelling, the novel explores themes of friendship, loyalty, and the simple pleasures of life. The book's blend of nature, adventure, and memorable characters has made it a timeless tale for readers of all ages.

Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. Illustrated Edition. THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS BY CLEMENT C. MOORE ILLUSTRATED BY ARTHUR RACKHAM HARD COVER. I have had some difficulties identifying the edition involved here as there is no date and the online citations are all over the place. What I have not had difficulty with is verifying that this particular copy of this classic is in very good condition. Please find a very nice copy of: The Night Before Christmas, by Clement C. Moore, with illustrations by Arthur Rackham. This small-sized hard cover book (5 ¾ x8 ¾ inches, 37 pages) was published by George C. Harrap & Co. of London, with no date indicated but I thought it was about 1932. The book is bound in green cloth with black titles on the cover. The book is elaborately illustrated, with an attractive pattern in red & white on the endpapers, a color frontispiece and three similar full page color plates and countless b&w illustrations on many pages. The first letter of each page is printed in red. Condition: This is really where this book shines. The book is in very good condition, something one cannot really say, surprisingly, for many of the copies found online. The hard covers are a bit dust dulled and speckled with muted white dots (barely visible; please see the photos) and the spine is a darkened. There is some very minor bumping to the corners and spine tips. Inside, the book is unmarked and the pages and plates are clean and bright, with one small exception, a light finger smudge on the left-hand margin of the frontispiece. There is some toning coming through at the center of the book, barely visible. Both hinges are intact, and the binding is tight and sound. This book is not ex-library or a remainder.
