As-new copy of the Folio Society's beautiful edition in the publisher's original shrink-wrap, as issued, slipcased, without a dust jacket. For copyright reasons, THE PRINCE AND THE PAUPER was published first in London, by Chatto & Windus, at the end of 1881. The first American edition was published by James R. Osgood and Company, Boston, in 1882. This Folio Society edition is based on a 1997 Penguin Books edition that conformed to the first American edition, with minor alterations. 8vo (296 pages, with frontispiece and 7 color illustrations).
