Add to basketPaperback. Condition: Fine. Soft Cover. Cartoon Books 2023-2024. Book condition: NM - Near Mint. Full Colour illustrations. This bundle features three Jeff Smith books; 'Thorn: The Complete Proto-Bone College Strips 1982-1986, and Other Early Drawings', 'Tuki: Fight for Fire' & 'Tuki: Fight for Family'. Also included in this bun…dle are 5 prints. 'Thorn: The Complete Proto- Bone College Strips from 1982 to 1986, and Other Early Drawings' reprints the entire run of Jeff Smith's earliest rendering of the world-famous Bone characters for the first time. The comic strips reveal an early version of Bone called Thorn that was written for a college audience in the 1980s. Thorn appeared in the pages of The Ohio State University's student newspaper The Lantern. A few were reprinted in a self-published 1983 book called Thorn: Tales from The Lantern. Another small selection was published in 2008's limited edition fundraiser for OSU's Billy Ireland Cartoon Library & Museum called Before Thorn. Both books are long out of print and sell at collector's prices. There has never been an official, complete run published until now. This beautiful edition includes plenty of bonus material such as recently discovered early drawings of the Thorn characters, essays and interviews. 'Tuki: Fight for Fire': The ancient world was filled with restless spirits and powerful forces. 2 million years ago, human evolution made its move. It chose Fire. At the dawn of humanity, during a period of tremendous change and drought, three lost children meet a mysterious traveler named Tuki. Together, their search for the Motherherd of all Buffalo leads them far north through the dangerous territory of a rival species called the Habiline. The Habiline hunt and kill anyone found using fire. Tuki's reputation precedes them and soon they find themselves at the center of unwanted attention not only from Habiline warriors, but of tribal spirits and giants!--Jeff Smith 'Tuki: Fight for Family': Two million years ago, at the dawn of humanity, when multiple species of humans lived at the same time, three lost children, a shaggy old timer, and an outcast missing link, fell in with an outsider named Tuki who carried with him the secret of Fire. A rival species, the Habiline, hunt and kill anyone found using fire. When word of the small band of misfits spreads, the new companions find themselves under attack! 304 pages. Size: 11" x 9" (290mm x 230mm). (7). Jeff Smith (illustrator).
