A two-fold facsimile of the first handwritten sketches of the vocal subjects of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, and illustration of invitation to the composer's funeral in Volume 2. Bindings generally loose, spine breaks, corners soft, backstrips on both volumes pulling away, with 2" loss at head, and 2.5" loss at tail of Vol. 1.
