First Edition. 258 pages + 8 pages of ads + 16 pages publisher's adverts, Hardback binding in rubbed condition, Contents most pages in good, clean condition , but overall poor, as old paper repair rear of illustrated frontispiece page, split between rear of title page & contents page, a couple of minor tears, some minor marks, a loose page in publishers adverts at rear, spine looks reglued to contents at some time, did not notice any inscriptions. The most unusual part is the illustrated Victorian adverts to rear of Schultz wood gunpowder, 4 illustrations of Broughham carriage & landau's made by J. Offord., etc. Preface dated 1872, and adverts rear are typical 1870's. So a great reading copy with some great adverts, of what looks like a very 1st edition. Size: 13 x 19cm Approx.
