This study compared the ultrasound guided percutaneous nephrostomy (PCN) versus the double J (JJ) ureteral stenting in the management of Obstructive Uropathy, Nephropathy and Hydronephrosis. Objectives were to compare the success rates of JJ stent versus PCN, assess the conversion rates of JJ versus PCN, compare recent complications of JJ versus PCN, compare late complications and failure of JJ versus PCN, compare Quality of Life (QOL) of patients underwent JJ versus PCN.A prospective analytical (comparative) study done in Ibn-Sina Specialized hospital, Sudan. From Dec 2014 to Sept 2015, 83 patients have been included. PCN is a safe procedure and has higher success rate than JJ stent to relief sepsis and decompress the kidney, but it has a higher complication rates on the long run. Moreover, it was found effective in patients with malignant ureteric obstruction. Les objectifs etaient de comparer les taux de reussite du stent JJ par rapport a la PCN, d'evaluer les taux de conversion du JJ par rapport a la PCN, de comparer les complications recentes du JJ par rapport a la PCN, de comparer les complications tardives et les echecs du JJ par rapport a la PCN, et de comparer la qualite de vie (QOL) des patients ayant subi un JJ par rapport a ceux ayant subi une PCN. Une etude analytique prospective (comparative) a ete realisee a l'hopital specialise Ibn-Sina, au Soudan. De decembre 2014 a septembre 2015, 83 patients ont ete inclus. La PCN est une procedure sure qui presente un taux de reussite plus eleve que le stent JJ pour soulager la septicemie et decomprimer le rein, mais elle entraine des taux de complications plus eleves a long terme. De plus, elle s'est averee efficace chez les patients presentant une obstruction ureterale maligne.
