Boards rubbed and soiled; spine discoloured; corners bumped; ends of spine starting to fray; front joint torn near head. Pencil price mark on recto of frontispiece. Pages with sporadic foxing spots and other marks; frontispiece tissue guard heavily foxed. Both hinges starting to crack; cracks developing in gutters in places.

Light foxing to half title page and flyleaf at rear; small marks on a few pages but mostly clean. Gutters cracking in a few places; all plates present but one detached.

Boards lightly rubbed at extremities, with one inch crack at top of rear spine joint. Pages bright with a little spotting. Previous owner's inscription dated 1907 on flyleaf. Lovely pictorial binding typical of Edwardian era.
