Considerations of technique, geogr…aphical distinction and historic significance have been excluded in favor of visual content. Color, pattern and line take precedent over fabric, stitching and regional traits. Therefore, the exhibition is devoted to 'pieced' quilts because that technique produced a body of work notable for its strong visual qualities."
