Book #2 in the 5-volume "Nancy and Nick" children's series from the early 20th century, in 187 pages, illustrated throughout with the pen-and-ink drawings of E. R. Higgins (1874-1958), better known for his "social realist" art. A FIRST EDITION, unknown printing, from 1921, this 12mo (5.25" x 7.50") has light green cloth-covered boards lettered & ruled in black to spine, with a colorful front paper pastedown (with lower-out corner chipped, else bright & intact). Condition is Fair-Good: heavy rubbing, ffep has been removed & front hinge is cracked. Binding strong & straight, pages generally quite clean with the occasional random smudge or spot; old gift inscription dated 1923 inside front cover. No DJ (missing).
