Hicks, of New York (illustrator). 22pp extract, printed in double columns, illustrated with 21 full-page photographs, and a half-page sketch map of Asia Minor and the Damascus to Mecca Railway, bottom outer corner of pages damp-stained, not affecting text, salvaged from a damaged issue of National Geographic Magazine, Volume XX, No. 2, February, 1909. Very little text accompanies the photographs; this article is almost exclusively pictorial. Housed in protective mylar report cover.

Illustrations include a diagram of a seed cleaning machine after Stettegast, a set of sieves for cleaning seeds, two examples of clover seed samplers, Nobbe's germinating apparatus, and the seed germinating apparatus used by the Department. The author was an Assistant in the Division of Botany, U. S. Dept. of Agriculture. Housed in protective mylar report cover with spine sleeve.
