Printed on robust watermarked wove paper. This magnificent plate depicts the celebrated racehorse Antonio, winner of the 1819 St. Leger Stakes (Fifty Subscribers). Antonio was owned by Thomas Ferguson, Esq., trained by J. Ferguson, and ridden to victory by jockey John Lonsdale—marking Lonsdale's historic third consecutive winning ride in this prestigious race.
